The Fight for Free Speech in the Courts, by Paul Sherman, Trevor Burrus, Aaron Ross Powell, Free Thoughts, 18 Mar 2016
Burrus and Powell discuss with Paul Sherman, a senior attorney with the Institute for Justice, about freedom of speech issues, particularly political speech, and occupational licensing
"... we represented John Rosemond who some of your listeners may have heard of. He's a nationally-syndicated newspaper columnist and he lives in North Carolina and he's a licensed psychologist in North Carolina and he writes about parenting issues, giving people advice on how to deal with the challenges of raising young kids or teenagers. ... When he wrote this column, he was contacted by the Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology. ... Thankfully we took this to court and the district court said that the board had clearly violated the First Amendment and enjoined them from interfering with this column in the future."
